Greetings from Mid-Michigan – The Great Lakes State!
State of Michigan’s Journeyman test changes
There is no longer a Test Date or an Application Deadline Date. The Bureau now uses a 3rd party for testing, the company is called PSI, and here is the link: https://candidate.psiexams.com/catalog/displayagencylicenses.jsp?catalogID=337
Exam applications can be submitted on line, here is the link for that:

The upper left hand corner click to Register for an Account. An email will be sent to the email entered on the account, the email has instructions that complete the registration process. NO PAYMENT IS NEEDED WHEN SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION. When received by the division, the application will be reviewed for completion and eligibility. Make sure the applicant provides what is required for the licensee designation. A letter will be sent to the address on the application or emailed if an email address is available, to let the applicant know if they are approved or denied.
If approved, we send the applicants info to PSI, it is then up to the applicant to go to their website to register for the exam. All of the info needed for PSI is on their website.
Make sure applicants save the User Name and Password, this is also where licenses can be renewed with a credit card and printed off, no more waiting for the license in the mail!!
“In the future, there will be no female leaders. There will just be leaders.”
Sheryl Sandberg
I recently watched the movie Suffrage and was amazed how little I knew about the rights or should I say the lack of rights for women. On August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was finally ratified, enfranchising all American women and declaring for the first time that they, like men, deserve all the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. If you take the time to watch this movie you will be disgusted that anyone could be treated the way these women were. One of the many things I respect about our union is; if you carry a union card you are equal as members of the IUEC and have rights to be union and the right to support our union. This November when you vote, and every one of us must, keep your trade in mind. Will the person you vote for support our union, provide good paying jobs, keep worker’s compensation laws, protect social security, strengthen pension plans, keep the 40 hour work week, support Prevailing Wages, and keep health care costs down for working men and women?
August dates to remember:
