Greetings from Mid-Michigan – The Great Lakes State!
June 21st the first day of summer!
We are half way through 2016, it went by fast. Next June we will only be a month away from the end of our contract, will you be prepared???
We have been busy at the Local over the last couple months with classes and meetings. We had two classes on our Expense Agreement and three Continuing Education classes; HCL, Motor & Generator and Fork Lift certification. Our hope is to start welding classes in the fall, increase the amount of Continuing Education classes and to improve our Mentoring Program. We should continually change to keep up with the industry and the world around us. I had a conversation with Joe out of Local 44 on what and how the Golden Rail Clubs benefit the Local. He is thinking of doing a Retiree Appreciation Day and I think it’s a great idea. In fact, I like it so much that we are going to do a day as well. Spread the word to all the Golden Rail & Retirees you know on June 28, 2016 Union Meeting & Retiree Appreciation Day @ 6:00 pm, BBQ starts @ 5:00 pm. Tell every Retiree you know to please come because it is important to us to thank everyone of them! Come and thank the retired members that did the work for all of us to be able to enjoy the benefits we enjoy today and tomorrow!
One last thing before I go, as you can tell this is the shortest article I have ever written and this is important: BE SAFE!!!
