Greetings from Mid-Michigan – The Great Lakes State!
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAYS,
HAPPY HANUKKAH, HAPPY KWANZAA
I’m trying to cover everything, but I’m sure I missed someone. Christmas Day & New Year’s Day are on Sundays, so you will get Monday off with pay. If you are working a job that is 4 -10’s, you will get 10 hours for Monday and if you are in a per diem area you will get per diem for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. You’ve got to love your Union when you stop and look at what we get because we are Union.

Our Family Union Meeting is December 2, 2016. We can hold about 140 people in our new union hall, but if we move it to fall next year we could have seating for about 200 by opening the three French doors to the deck and gazebo. I can’t wait to see the faces on the families when they come to the new union hall. I think it’s beautiful and not like any other union hall I’ve ever seen. Dinner will start around 5 pm and the meeting around 6 pm (we wait if people are still coming in). No one complains about starting a little late because everyone is having a great time catching up with old and new friends. I’m pretty sure we will have 3 classrooms completed for the kids to watch movies during the meeting and chow down on popcorn and candy. It’s only once a year, let the kids have some fun on your Local Union. There will be gifts for every kid and door prizes provided for the members provided by our signatory companies and Local 85. The food will be coming from the same place we have used every year, why change something when it works so well and everyone loves the food and deserts. I think I have your attention. I hope everyone will come to see the new building, classrooms and to have a fun night out. See you on December 2nd, until then be safe, please RSVP (517-882-0100), so we have enough gifts and food for everyone. The officers and I are excited to show everyone around the building.
